Here, dedicated Islamic teachers devote their lives to nurturing the minds and souls of our children, yet they face overwhelming challenges that threaten their livelihoods and the educational quality of their institutions. The reality is heart-wrenching: many of these teachers earn a meager salary, often below $20 a month, while striving to support families of four. The Mudeer (founders) of over 125 Islamic schools, responding to a recent survey, revealed the grim state of teacher compensation—salaries range from as low as 3,000 to 30,000 Naira, leaving educators struggling to make ends meet. Unlike their Western counterparts, who benefit from government support and professional development opportunities, our Islamic teachers are often neglected, receiving little to no assistance from the public or authorities.

Islamic teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of our children, instilling not only academic knowledge but also moral values, ethics, spiritual guidance, and a sense of community in their students. They nourish both the body and the soul, offering a holistic education that goes beyond textbooks. However, their invaluable contributions often go unrecognized, and their financial struggles can impede the quality of education they provide.

In response to this urgent need, the Oasis of Care Foundation (OCF) proudly presents the "Empower Our Teachers, Nurture Our Future." Our mission is clear: (a) to provide financial support to madrasahs, ensuring that every teacher receives fair compensation for their vital work. We aim to increase their monthly earnings to at least $50, a significant yet modest amount that can transform their lives and the educational landscape. (b) Community Mobilization: Foster community engagement and raise awareness about the significant challenges confronting Islamic educators, and (c) Long-Term Sustainability: Develop sustainable funding strategies that ensure ongoing support for madrasas and their invaluable teachers. Through this initiative, our ambitious goal is to touch the lives of at least 10,000 teachers, removing the burden of financial stress, and allowing them to concentrate fully on their primary mission: educating and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow. empowering them to focus on their noble calling without the burden of financial stress.
